Master’s degree in Environment and Resource management, with a water management specialization, from the Free University of Amsterdam and a strong background in climate change adaptation strategies, sustainability policies, knowledge management and water management. Field experience in Ethiopia on the organization of stakeholder platforms, non-revenue water and sustainable rural water supplies, and currently involved programmes in South Sudan (WASH), Ethiopia (Social Accountability), Zimbabwe (LED) and South Africa (strengthening Catchment Management Agencies).


Working on strengthening democratic local governments allows us to increase institutional and organizational resilience at the local level, thereby, enabling local governments to act in accordance with their mandates. This, in turn, leads to improved service provisions for citizens and increases trust between citizens and local governments.
