Master’s degree in Contemporary History from the University of Groningen. Experienced in the acquisition and implementation of EU, USAID and bilateral funded local government support projects with a focus on South-East Europe and the Middle-East. Specific expertise in the role of host communities during the protracted refugee presence surrounding Syria. Current project focus on strengthening local service delivery, inclusive citizen participation, local economic development and improved local governance. VNG International’s account manager for USAID project acquisition and implementation. Worked in: Jordan, Lebanon, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mali, Georgia and Armenia. 


Working at the local level for me means working on the level where governments make the biggest impact on the daily life of people. In that sense local governments or processes like decentralization are not goals in themselves, they are crucial means to improving the quality of life for everyone.
