The wider objective of the project was to strengthen public financial management at central, state and local level. 
 
The specific objective of the program was to increase the capacity of local governments to implement and execute existing policies and directives in the fields of payroll and PFM in all 10 states of South Sudan. 
 
The expected results of the project were:

The main objective of the project is the implementation of the institutional framework and the provisions of the Code Foncier et Domanial (Private and State-owned Land Code) for the purpose of integrated land management at the local level. 
 
The specific objectives of this project are about supporting the municipalities in experimenting the envisioned legal framework of the CFD through: 
The set-up of the local land management bodies

General objective: A growing coalition of civil society organisations and municipalities is continuously involved in a facts-based and inclusive debate on state-building and fosters a culture of dialogue, cooperation and institutional development at the local level. 
 
Specific objectives:

The Advancing Strong Partnerships for Inclusive and Resilient Economic Development (ASPIRE) project is implemented in Somaliland and Puntland with the aim to promote inclusive and resilient economic development, drawing on the Territorial Approach for Local Development. In Somaliland, ASPIRE focuses on Berbera District as a hub for inclusive local econo¬mic development (LED) in the region and as an entry point to address regional income disparities.

Impact. 
LACEP II is working to ensure effective, efficient and participatory development at the local level in Zimbabwe by making sure service delivery by the LAs is more inclusive, gender responsive and pro-poor focused. 
 
Outcomes: 
LACEP II will be working with LAs on their financial management systems to help them to improve on the transparency and clarity of their budgets so as to make them accountable to the public.

This action serves as a reinforcement of the on-going Libya Local Governance and Stabilization Project (LGSP, 2015-2018), funded by the European Union (EU) with the support of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by VNG International and the Centre for Innovative Local Governance (CILG-VNG International).

Objective: Improving food security by strengthening local democracy 
Target group: The association of Burundian local governments ABELO and their local governments 
Intended result: Enhanced capacity of the association and the affiliated local governments in the area of land registration, family planning and the functioning of local administrators 
Activities: On-the-job coaching and training

Objective: Local Economic Development on the basis of agriculture and food security 
Target group: 21 local governments in 3 districts, local government association ANCB and 3 regional associations 
Intended result: Local governments will be able to promote agricultural entrepreneurship 
Activities: Benchmark project, workshops, training and on-the-job coaching

Objective: Better sanitation facilities for the population 
Target group: 5 local governments and the national association of local government NALAG 
Intended result: Local governments can develop and implement sanitation programmes 
Activities: On-the-job coaching, training, benchmarking, platform meetings with the target group

Objective: Improving food security and the local economy 
Target group: The local government association RALGA and its members; 31 districts 
Intended result: Enhanced capacity of the association and the districts in the area of land management and public-private partnerships 
Activities: On-the-job training, coaching and workshops
